About our Bundaberg early learning centre

Program & Curriculum Information

At our early childhood centre, we use evidence-based programs to assist with the early development and learning of your child, such as:

National Quality Standard

Following the National Quality Standard (NQS), we base our curriculum based on the 7 quality areas and outcomes for young children. We ensure:

  • Educators encourage children to be actively involved in learning
  • Effective leadership is in place and sets a clear direction for the centre.
  • Our education program and educators enhance learning & development.
  • The physical environment is safe and provides a diverse range of experiences
  • Collaborative relationships with families and the community help achieve positive outcomes for the children.
  • Children receive quality care, education and protection for their safety, health and wellbeing.
  • Relationships with children are warm, respectful and promote their sense of security and belonging.
Early Years Learning Framework

We use the Early Years Learning Framework from the Department of Education and Training to help children learn and grow during the early stages of their lives. Working together with families, our trained educators will help your child develop:

  • Effective communication skills.
  • A strong sense of their identity.
  • Connections to the world around them.
  • Confidence and involvement in learning.
  • A clear understanding of their wellbeing.
Child Care Subsidy Information

As of July 2 2018, a new Child Care Subsidy (CCS) will replace the current Child Care Benefit and Child Care Rebate. The CCS will be paid directly to our centre, with families only paying the out-of-pocket expenses and lowering costs.

There will be some changes to how you pay and access early learning services. We’ve listed 3 things that will help make filling out the online assessment easier. You will need to provide:

1. Combined family income

2. Activity level of parents–hours spent in paid work, study & training, volunteering, selfemployment, looking for work & other activities on a case-by-case basis

3. Type of child care service

The transition to the CCS will not automatically roll over from the current payment systems. To estimate how much your subsidy might be, visit the Department of Education and Training website.

Incursions & Excursions

For a unique learning experience and to break up the daily routine, our long day care centre offers regular incursions and excursions.

Incursions help break up the routine by inviting people in specialised fields to visit the children. In the past, we’ve had reptile handlers, scientists, tooth fairies and fire brigades delight and educate the children. Our kindy students also go on excursions to schools and theatres throughout the year.

All incursions and excursions offered at our centre are covered by our regular fees. Check out some of the fun our educators and children have had on our Gallery.
